The biggest capitalist scam in history outside of Bernie Madoff's $50 Billion Ponzi
Scam are the big bottle companies like Dasani (Coca-Cola) and Aquafina (Pepsi)
and their marketing of bottled TAP water to the unsuspecting consumer sheeps!
With more than 20,000,000,000 bottles of water sold each year in the United States (70 to 80 percent of whose bottles end up in the landfill), at a cost of up to 2,000 times what comes out of your tap.
San Francisco tap water is one of the best tasting and safest waters in the nation.
Why would I even bother with bottled water?
We in the SF bay area should stop believing in the myth that bottled water is safer than tap water.
When was the last time a bottled water company issued a comprehensive water quality report?
It’s a huge business, $16 billion a year in the U.S.
We pay three to four times the cost of gasoline for a product that comes free out of the tap.
We import ungodly amounts of water from Fiji, when half the people who live in Fiji don’t have access to clean, reliable water.
We move almost 40,000 18-wheelers worth of water around the country every week–a tremendous waste of energy resources.
It takes three times the water in a bottle to produce the bottle and fill it.
A quarter of the bottled water purchased is simply filtered tap water.
And 60-70 percent is exempt from FDA standards.
So it seems to me in desperation of sinking sales Aquafina and Dasani are adding new gimmicks like fruit flavors and a bottle that's environmentally safe made from a process that uses sugarcane juice or mollasses. They both claim FDA approval, of course, their water quality reports are really that of where ever they get their tap water from. Watch before you know it Dasani and Aquafina will use SF tap water in their advertising, hahaha! What a joke!
